  • UPdatesz!!

Is there something I can use for tracking and planning for the wedding? There seems tons of activities but I am such a bad bad planner. Ho Ho Ho!!

We got back our re-polished wedding bands and they look wayy better than previously. Just for this, I was yaya-papaya at Mom and Smelly Boy for a few weeks. They wanted to let the wedding bands stay as is because they thought re-polishing might cost more and will not make any differences.

    Hee hee.

  • M Hotel

Everyone tell a deep breathe and say, "phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

And please start saving $1 per day from today. The wedding date is finalised on 28 Nov 2009 (Sat). To ensure every alcoholic is well taken care off, beer is free flow and just drink watever you feel like bringing over. But I draw the line at snake tonics or some reptiles-tonics in transparent bottles. Yah yah... dun act act, I know you like to drink. Hee.

For single guys who like looking at beautiful girl. My wedding cooridinater looks like Kim Hee Sun. Really!! No kidding!!! For single ladies, most of the sale managers and waiters towered over me, sun-tanned, very sporty type and well-spoken. And they opened the doors for ladies too!! Food? What food?

ROM will be held on the actual day to save the hassle. I really love our Ms Kim Hee Sun. She helped us to arrange for the solemonisation at no extra costs. I almost wanted to do an ORQ ROM (my workplace) or the Changi jetty ROM whereby guests had to walk out to the end of the jetty at 12 noon, where the ROM table is set.

For sisters/jiemeis and brothers/xiongdis, the bride will shift to Hougang to spy on the groom (5-6 bus stops away). Hah hah. So, there will be very short travelling time. The final final details will only be finalized next year. If sisters/jiemeis wanna do their hair/makeup, fret not. I am sourcing for 1 or 2 MUA to help out.

Can breathe smoother now since the biggest wedding item: WEDDING BANQUET + ACTUAL DATE is settled.

This is the tentative floral theme. There will be more themes when the date draws nearer. Overall, the feeling is great and staffs are very helpful.

Some of the wedding flavors. Hah hah. Bibi said I am too focused on the wedding favours.

The leather angbao box is very unique. Must choose wedding favours that are useful one mah. Another wedding cake design.

Colette certainty throw in alot of items that are relevant for us. For example the ROM setup at no extra costs. At least we have a venue for a formal ROM. In addition, there the bridal suite is most cozy! And an extra room for our wedding helpers.

ALSO! I won the 6th prize during their wedding show~~ We got a bottle of 2003 white wine, a $200 photographer voucher, $50 dining voucher and a set of plates and bowl. Hee hee! I was overjoyed! Because the smelly boy had wanted to go off after signing up the banquet package. Then, I insisted we stayed on in case we won something during the lucky draw. Hee, smelly boy showing off our 6th prize.

The bull, for the booming financial market. *smile*

(Sidenote: At first, we chose Orchard Parade Hotel. As to how come we switched to M Hotel despite a higher banquet price, it has got to do with the correct staffs attitude, honesty and integrity when dealing with customers. Since the incident had ocurred and weddings are supposedly joyous occasions, I shall not elaborate too much over the fuming incident we had encountered at Orchard Parade Hotel.)

  • Of sugar and spice

A quick update... we got our HDB flat at |-Sengkang-| Quite memorable. Coz, is that considered as a wedding proposal? Nothing romantic. That's Bibi.

Then we booked our wedding banquet at Orchard Parade Hotel. Tentatively, its on the 18 Oct 2009 (Sunday). I said tentative, because we have not paid a deposit. Somehow, I got a naggy feeling that hmmm... the date could be challenged? Or the hotel venue? Anyway, I shall not harbour too high hopes yet.

Hee... on a happy note; we got our very own customized wedding bands!!

    DSC00953

At Clarity... waiting for our turn.

    DSC00954

These are the selected 17 pairs among the hundred we had viewed. That's the vast collection of Clarity. I love the attention secretly. The way the lady boss-Amanda and Bibi fussing over my choice of rings. I just need to say, "I think I like this" and Amanda would fish out that pair. Until a point whereby we had to stop Amanda from taking out more boxes of rings. Among the 17 pairs, 2 pairs were handpicked by Bibi. Guys...

    DSC00955

Honestly, there wasnt much to ponder over. I sincerely believed in Love at 1st sight. This pair caught my eye instantly and Bibi like it too.

    DSC00957

However, the final rings will not look like the above because we customised some details, to make it uniquely ours. We do not have the intention to pick our wedding bands initally. It was the ring details and customisation factor that wowed us over. In addition, the lady boss even gave us a VIP discount without us even asking for it. Surprisely, the total bill was less than $1k after the discount (for a pair!!)

Really feeling very xinfu wor! And mian yi de!

  • HDB Flat Selection

We were pleasantly surprised to receive an invitation from HDB to select a flat that we had previously applied. Well, our queue was No 364/336. Definately out of range, and James and I thought its going to be a wasted dream. But somehow, we still made it for the selection round. Even though, we dun set ourselves too high hopes that we will get super good units. More likely, we are picking the leftover ones. Well, one man's meat is another man's poison. What we think is good might be bad for others.

So, we still have a sliver of hope in getting a cozy dream home.

  • Wedding exhibition at JB, Malaysia

Half the price, double the goodies (Pics with James)

I am glad to attend this wedding exhibition. But too little time liao loh and... very tiring. Because I am pretty much a very lazy person and you know how wedding exhibitions are like. Every boutique wants you to sign with them and instead of going to the point, short and sweet, things drag and drag and drag.... Out of 20, we only managed to obtain 4 packages' details.

Then, at the back of your mind, there are things like, "Are there hidden costs?", "What types of actual gowns are offered?", "Who will be the photographer?", "Any bad rep?", "AM I BEING OVERCHARGED?" And every bridal houses' style can look the same, but yet different. I am more of an instinct person. I like looking through other people's album and feel if its suitable for us. And its highly subjective in this case. Coz simply for a water backdrop design, every bridal house offered it. And within the bridal house, there are different photographers' style.

I nearly signed up with one bridal house. But didnt lah. I went home and first thing first, I surveyed the internet to find out more about the bridal house I nearly signed up for. And it turned out (after 4 hours of internet reviews)...

The BS guy really offered me last year's price package. He didnt overcharged me lah. Reading from the other reviews, usually people will top up at least another $5k to get additional shots and poses with this bridal house... in my case, he offered $3k additional only + other perks + giant photo. If I signed last night, I save only RM$3000 lah.

In conclusion, I nearly caught a golden goose. I need 24 hours to chill and maybe torture my hamsters to vent my frustration abit. Hah hah!

  • "The start of a Great Journey begins with one tiny step"

There was one famous quote, along the lines of, "The start of a Great Journey begins with one tiny step". No matter how tiny the steps are, its better than nil huge leap. At least tiny steps lead you to somewhere, nil huge leap lead you to nowhere.

    DSC00854

    Our couple rings.

I have attended quite a few of my peers' weddings as compared to Mr James. Hence, justify the gan-cheongness of my planning ahead and scrutinising every little details. Anything to do with weddings will sure grab my attention. Because... honestly, being able to attend friends and relatives weddings are sort of lessons learnt and things to avoid. Hah hah...

"Eh, this restaurant food sucks...", "The bride's make up is so weird", "Why the wedding be held on weekdays/weekends, must apply for leave leh (if weekdays), my only Sat/Sun is burnt loh (if weekends)" etc etc.

People are certainty hard to please... so, I shall try to avoid as much as I can and heh heh, plan ahead loh. Mr James had been saying that financial part of the wedding is so stressful. As if I dunno... actually I already know in advance the banquet part will be a major headache because it will cost about 80% of the wedding expenditure loh. Happy go lucky Mr James still sit there and comment comment comment... no input yet except, "Bibi, we must plan now. You must lose weight."

Huh?  Do I look very plump meh?

Anyhows, I have taken the first step and bought my first bridal magazine. Okie, and then, I have shortlisted some hotels and restaurants. But I very the hesitant to reveal my shortlist because some Singaporeans have actually called up the restaurants to ask about the price/table so that they only provide EXACTLY the amount of angbaos as per the table or even provide LESS as per advise from one wedded couple. And I dunno who these people are if I were to invite them. At the same time, I would like to share my wedding updates with my friends and relatives loh.

Okay... I shall disclose this blog addy to my close ones only!!

This guide is kind of useful. Hmmm... no. of guest tentatively set at 30 tables. I prefer inviting people that we know personally and on very close terms. Pointless if we were to invite hordes of unknown/not close people. I have seen some wedding couples take pictures with people that they dunno. Mostly those are the friends of the bride/bridegroom's parents and reduce the time taken to pose with close friends instead. I rather entertain people who meant alot to us. People who genuinely want to share our happiness.

Easier said than done, but I shall try! Will persude Mr James too. Right Bibi? Hee hee.

  • A very unique marriage proposal

I was planning our HK trip loh. Then I went to check out the very famous Venetian Casino in Macau and see what is so special about. Ehem... actually I just want to check out the timings of all the free street performances.

    Then I chance upon this!

"Declare your love at the Venetian"

She can't take her eyes off the classic Venetian windows. The flowers that you got designed at Fiori seem less beautiful than her eyes. The gondolier waits for your gesture to break into an Italian love song. In the distance, the Streetmosphere performers are waiting to celebrate. And then you pop the question, drifting along in a gondola under the azure sky: can there be any better place to declare your love than at the Venetian? We think not, and that's why our marriage proposal packages customize everything you want to make the "Will You?" moment unforgettable for the rest of your (and her) life."

Diamond Proposal Package (MOP6,999) or Crystal Proposal Package (MOP2,999)

Very the expensive loh, but dinner is provided. However, I prefer to have relatives or close friends present.

  • The Rose

    brillant rose

    Westlife - The Rose

Some say love it is a river
    That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love it is a hunger
    An endless, aching need
I say love it is a flower,
    And you it's only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
    That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
    That never takes the chance

It's the one who won't be taken,
    Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
    That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong.

    Just remember in the winter
    Far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun's love,
In the spring, becomes the rose.

I am aware that James are I are not even together for more than 1 year. So? Anyway, if we are to shelve our wedding plans to please other people, then probably we can get some couple rings first. Although I am thoroughly displeased.
